Emergency Preparedness
Last Update:  10 May 2012

BE PREPARED!  The Planning Commission for the Town of Hunts Point has prepared an emergency-response plan to assist residents in the event of an emergency or disaster.  HOWEVER, everyone in the Puget Sound area should be prepared to survive without outside assistance for a minimum of 3 days.

Residents are strongly encourged to prepare personal Disaster Supplies Kits for home, auto, boat, office, etc.  Click here  for suggestions regarding the contents of your Disaster Supplies Kit.

Additional information about planning and preparing for an emergency can be found on the King County  website and the American Red Cross  website.  The American Red Cross also has prepackaged disaster kits, first aid kits, books, and supplies available for purchase through the online store.

To complement the Town's emergency-response plan,  teams of residents are using the Map Your Neighborhood program to identify available resources and organize efforts to mobilize those resources in the event of an emergency.  For more information about the Map Your Neighborhood program, please visit http://www.emd.wa.gov/myn/myn_resources.shtml In the next few months, block captains will be holding neighborhood meetings to further these efforts.  Residents are encouraged to make every effort to attend these meetings so that we are truly able to help one another during and after an emergency.
